These little, beautifully soft, pillow-y round, lightly powdered with fine flour…they’re liars, damned liars!  I was never able to get a good second proof going and they stayed relatively flat and dense.  The flavor was perfect but the texture ruined the experience.

It’s not entirely their fault that they deceived me; I had a hand in their demise.  I babied them too much and kept them too cool for too long.  Then I didn’t quite cover them and they dried out a little on one side.
